Overcoming Railway Network Challenges by IRID Specialists / “Railway Expansion Joint” Technology Localized in Tabriz

The CEO of the knowledge-based Iranian Rail Industries Development Co. (IRID) announced the successful installation of the strategic railway expansion joint system on the Tehran-Hamedan axis, stating that the railway expansion joint technology has been successfully localized in Tabriz.
According to the Public Relations department, Mohammad Kalami announced the localization and successful installation of the strategic railway expansion joint system on the Jedayesh Bridge, located on the Tehran-Hamedan axis.He clarified: “The railway expansion joint mitigates thermal stresses. By dissipating these thermal stresses in critical sections such as bridges and tunnels, this system prevents the destructive phenomenon of track buckling caused by heat, as well as weld fractures due to extreme cold.”Pointing to the enhanced speed and safety provided by the localized railway expansion joint system, the CEO of IRID stated: “With the installation of this equipment by Tabrizi engineers, the need for a drastic reduction in fleet speed at accident-prone points has been eliminated, facilitating safe transit at standard speeds.”Emphasizing the necessity of developing the railway economy, Kalami added: “In addition to severing dependency on imports and preventing foreign currency outflow, this project has been implemented directly in line with the macro objectives of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, specifically aiming to upgrade axle load capacities, reduce transit times, and cut maintenance costs.”
