The ceremony for signing the mutual educational-research and technological cooperation contract between IRID and Shahid Madani University of Azerbaijan

According to a report by the Iran Rail Industries Development Co’s (IRID’s) Public Relations Office, the ceremony was held in IRID Co. on Sunday, 24.Ordibehesht.1402(14.May.2023) with the mutual cooperation contract being signed by both Messrs Mohammadbagher Mohammadsadeghi Azad, the President of Shahid Madani University of Azerbaijan and Motaghipour, CEO of Iran Rail Industries Co. IRIDCO., considering the both side’s capacities including human resources, the existing technologies, data, hardware and software facilities.

The aim of this memorandum of understanding, signed between the two sides, is to develop and use scientific and research facilities, applicable research and developing activities, creating new markets, identifying the market for new and innovative student projects, holding courses and specialized workshops. The both parts agreed to have mutual cooperations, based on the above-mentioned subjects.

Motaghipour expressed happiness about paving the grounds for signing this memorandum of understanding. He also expressed hope for the implementation acceleration of this agreement, containing mostly the scientific, technological and research fields, in a real and practical way, enabling both parties to solve their research and technical needs.

He continued his remarks, adding that the whole effort of this company is focused on the localization of all components of the railway turnouts as an strategic and important product which sure enough would be achieved through the close relationship between industry and university.

Dr. Mohammad Sadeghi Azad, too, gave some remarks on the subject, pointing out to one of the social duties of universities as establishing a relationship between industry and university, that’s to say, synergy, leading both institutions towards development. He also expressed hope that by means of the facilities of both institutions, we would witness successes in the field of industry and science.

It should be pointed out that the faculty members of the technical and engineering faculty, the faculty of basic sciences and the industry and university liaison of Tabriz university as well as a number of the deputies and managers of IRID Co. attended the ceremony.

Iran Railway Industries Development Company (IRID) as a Knowledge-based one, is one of the subsidiary companies of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways Personnel Savings Institution(PSIRAI). Based on the products of this Co. as the unique manufacturer of all types of railway turnouts in Iran, the country no longer needs to import these products. Relying on its specialists’ high power and capacity, this company is able to produce a variety of railway switches with different radius. So far these turnouts have been installed and used in various railway lines and urban railways of the country.
